Lake Carroll, contrary to some beliefs, is a public golf course located just north of Lanark in scenic Carroll County.

The 18-hole golf course is spread out over 220 acres, allowing for calming seclusion throughout a round. The relatively short yardage is quite deceiving with the numerous doglegs, tree-lined fairways and well-manicured undulating greens, causing Lake Carroll to play longer than the listed 6,477 yards.

Regardless of skill, Lake Carroll offers 18 holes of perfectly mixed scenery, serenity, challenge and personal attention to make every play day an experience to be remembered.

Great customer service is Lake Carroll’s passion. That is why it has a ranger and starter every day during the peak season to assist golfers throughout their day.

The pro shop staff is expertly trained to assist visitors as they shop in the largest, well-stocked pro shop in the area. It is stocked with major brands of golf goods and it offers the largest selection of in-stock FootJoy shoes in the area. It also offers Demo clubs — in brands such as Titlest, Srixon and Cobra — for golfers to test on the range or the course.

Improving one’s enjoyment of golf is Lake Carroll’s duty, which is why it offers instruction for adults, groups, junior clinics and a Saturday summer series group clinics tailored to make people into whatever kind of golfer they aspire to be.

The brand new, state-of-the-art video instruction equipment is like nothing in the area and Lake Carroll is one of the only courses in the area to offer video lessons to assist golfers with their game enjoyment.

Monday night is kid’s night at Lake Carroll; one free meal off the children’s menu for every adult entree. Tuesday is steak night, and the succulent 10-ounce sirloin is $8.95.
